Our mission is to help you discover, save, and share places you love.
This Privacy Policy describes our policies on the collection, use, and disclosure of information about you in connection with your use of our services, including those offered through our websites, emails, and mobile applications (collectively, the "Service"). The terms "we", "us", and "My Fave Places" refer to My Fave Places LLC., a New York Limited Liability Company. When you use the Service, you consent to our collection, use, and disclosure of information about you as described in this Privacy Policy.
We wrote this policy to help you understand what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what choices you have about it. We’ve always been passionate about privacy, long before it became cool, and will continue to do so.
What Personal Information Does My Fave Places Collect?
When you sign up for any of our services, you consent to receive communications from us electronically, and you agree that we may communicate with you by posting notices on our Services and/or by email. You agree that all agreements, notices, disclosures, and other communications that we provide to you electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing. You agree that all notices we provide to you by email will be considered received by you on the day that we send them.
Each service we offer is technically independent of each other and we do not share or mix user information across platforms.
Website
When you visit the My Fave Places website (www.myfaveplaces.com), you will browse anonymously unless you have requested a newsletter, posted a comment on the website, or selected to contact us. For example:
Newsletter subscription - If you would like to receive alerts such as email newsletters from My Fave Places, enter your email address in the newsletter subscription form on the web site.
Contact Us - If you email us through the “Contact”, "What are yours?", "Get in touch!" or "Want to Contribute?" links on this site, we ask you for information such as your name and email address so we can respond to your questions and comments. You may choose to provide additional contact information as well.
Commenting on a post: If you comment on a post we ask for your name, email, and comment.
Mobile app
If you create an account on the My Fave Places iOS mobile app, we may store and use your first and last name, email address. You also have the option to add more information to your private profile and gender. On your public profile, you can also display a location, a short bio, and a personalized display name, which we store along with any comments or messages you submit on My Fave Places. The total number of places you have faved and your top 5 followers will be displayed publicly. You have the option to make individual faved places private from public display by swiping the place (swipe right to left) the place name from the My Places A-Z list screen. You may block a connected follower by tapping the Block button in their profile. They can be unblocked via the Settings screen.
You may also sign up using a Facebook account. We will ask permission to access basic information from your Facebook account, your name, email, and profile picture. You can choose to stop sharing that information with us at any time by going to Facebook to remove My Fave Place’s access to that account and your ability to log in.
We will send you marketing materials by email, text, or push notification, depending on your account or operating system settings. Each time we send you marketing materials, in each message we will provide instructions on how to unsubscribe to future communications from that type of marketing.
We may from time to time, email, or through push notifications, if there are important company or product updates.
Podz
Podz is a social commerce marketplace platform where users can support and engage with creators. The Podz platform enables users to share their content and sell products and services (strict restrictions apply to types of content, products, and services that can be shared or sold). We refer to those users who share content as “Creators” and those users who view and opt to pay to support Creators’ content as “Fanz”. Most of this policy relates to all users but where necessary we differentiate between Users and Creators.
When you initially sign up to Podz, we receive your email address. You may also sign up using a Google account. We will ask permission to access basic information from your Google account, such as your name, email, and profile picture. You can choose to stop sharing that information with us at any time by going to Google to remove My Fave Place’s access to that account and your ability to log in. We will use your email to send you marketing materials, product updates, payment/purchase information, and important notices.
When you contact a Creator through Podz, your Podz account email is shared with the Creator in order for them to respond to you.
As a Creator, you also have the option to add more information to your public profile, such as a location, web site, contact email, audio, social media links, and an about section, which we store along with any comments, ratings, or messages you submit on Podz services.
How We Use The Information Collected
We will use the information to:
Personalize the content you receive and provide you with tailored content that may be of interest to you;
Notify you about changes to our Services;
Conduct periodic surveys to improve the offering;
Respond to your questions, comments and provide you with user support;
Enforce our terms, conditions, and policies; or
Communicate with you via email and/or in-app mobile messaging.
As it is in our legitimate interests to be responsive to you and to ensure the proper functioning of our products and organization, we may use your information to:
Identify you when you use the Service;
Improve the Platform and to ensure content from the Platform is presented most effectively for you and your device;
Administer the Service and for internal operations, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, statistical and survey purposes;
Allow you to participate in interactive features of the Service when you choose to do so;
Personalize the content you receive;
Keep the Service safe and secure;
Develop our Service and conduct product development;
Measure and understand the effectiveness of the advertising we serve to you and others;
Make suggestions and recommendations to you and other users of the Platform about goods or services that may interest you or them;
Make recommendations on places to visit, based on places other subscribers have favorited.
Suggest other people who have similar interests.
Provide you – or permit selected third parties to provide you – with information about goods or services we feel may interest you. Where we permit selected third parties to use your data, we (or they) will contact you by electronic means only if you have consented to this.
It is in our legitimate interests to promote the Service. It is also fundamental to the nature of the Service we provide. By agreeing to comply with this policy you agree that we may use information that you give to us, such as user-generated content and video content that you may choose to broadcast on our Service, as part of our advertising and marketing campaigns to promote the Service.
How You Use It: Contacts/Connections/Followers
You can:
Mobile App
Invite your friends to join the Service by providing us with their contact information, or by allowing us to access your contacts from your mobile device, or third-party sites to select which friends you want to invite.
If you allow us to access your contacts on your mobile device, we may transmit that information to My Fave Places long enough to process your connection invitations.
For example, if you sign up for the mobile app Service using a Facebook account, we can help your Facebook friends find you on My Fave Places when they first sign up for the Service.
My Fave Places mobile app users can search for your account using the name you entered on your profile page of the app.
Invite MFP Connections you follow and they follow you back, to join a MFP Chat conversation or group.
Podz
Invite your friends to join the Service by tapping the Share buttons to share the app or share individual Creator podz. On a mobile, the app will provide you temporary options to send to your contacts. We do not have access to the contact information on your mobile or whom you share invitations with.
Can I hide my user profile from public view to protect my privacy?
Mobile App
My Fave Places’ people, lists, and notes are intended for public consumption and work best when real people share and trust each other’s recommendations. However, we think it’s important to keep your personal account information private. You can create a personalized user name that is displayed and we do not reveal your email or phone number. Plus you can also keep as many or as few of your favorite places and categories private from others. We have steps on how to do that listed in our help section of the app. You also have the ability to block individuals who connect and follow you in the app and on the chat.
You can always leave a chat group, ban a chat user in side MFP Chat. Further you can Unfollow or Block users inside the MFP app. Blocking a user means they will be unable to find and follow you in the MFP app - using their current MFP account.
Podz
Supporters: There is no public profile that is displayed to other users. If you made comments on a pod, these will be visible. A private chat message sent to a creator is also visible to the Creator.
Creators: No. Your public profile content is designed to be seen. To hide it, you will have to contact Podz to delete your entire account. Deletion will delete all your podz (ones you have created or where you have financially supported other Creators), as they are linked to your account.
Children under 13
None of our Services are intended for users under the age of 18. None of the Services are permitted to be used by individuals who are under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any Data from children under 13. If you are based in the European Economic Area (EEA) you may only use Service if you are over the age at which you can provide consent to data processing under the laws of your country or if verifiable parental consent for your use of Service has been provided to us. If you notice or suspect that a user is under 13 years of age, please contact us immediately and we will take the appropriate steps to delete this personally identifiable information. If you are a parent or guardian and discover that your child under 13 years of age has obtained an account on the Services, then you may alert us at [email protected] and request that we delete that child’s personally identifiable information from our systems.
Social Media
The Service provides users the opportunity to interact and post content through various social media sites.
Your interactions with such tools and any information you provide in connection with these interactions are publicly viewable outside of the Website domain.
For example, you may choose to like an image or article posted on one of these services or to like or share an article on MyFavePlaces.com to your social media connections.
Each social media site has privacy policies which may be more or less protective than this Policy. If you do not wish for this information to be disclosed, then you should not use these tools. Your interactions with these social media sites are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing it. All comments posted on My Fave Places should comply with the My Fave Places Terms of Service.
If you post any Comments or User Content on the My Fave Places website or Podz, you should be aware that any personally identifiable information you choose to provide there may be read, collected, or used by other users of the Website, as well as other third parties. We are not responsible for the information you choose to submit in these forums. We cannot guarantee that other users have not made copies of and/or will not use such information outside of the Website. We are not responsible for the information you choose to post in this forum.
App Sharing to Third Party Services (i.e., Twitter & Facebook)
The My Fave Places app gives you the option of sharing and some of your activity such as a favorite place you have saved, to your Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter and/or Facebook accounts and other social networking services. This means when you may share a favorite place to Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter or Facebook (e.g. checking in), this information and will be viewable by the communities on those services (and in the case of Twitter, maybe discoverable by search engines).
You acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for your use of those services and that it is your responsibility to review the terms of use and privacy policy of these providers. My Fave Places will not be responsible or liable for: (i) the availability or accuracy of such services; (ii) the content, products, or services on or availability of such services; or (iii) your use of any such services.
Podz
The app can generate a URL that can directly deep-link to a pod. This URL can be shared so other users are invited to sign in and view the pod.
Log Files
As is true of most Services, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data.
We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, to administer Services, to track users' movements around Services, and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We do not link this automatically-collected data to personally identifiable information.
Determining Location
Mobile App Service: specifically deals with the location of places, directions, and maps, so to work, the Service needs to know your location. Whenever you open and use/interact with our app on your mobile device or go to one of our Sites, we use the location information from your mobile device or browser (e.g., latitude and longitude) to tailor the Services experience to your current location (i.e., we'll show you a list of nearby locations, display a relevant location map and provide directions). determine your current location in order to determine the city you are located in and display a relevant location map. We will not share your current location obtained in this manner with other Users.
You can opt into this in your device operating system location settings at any time. If you opt-out, the My Fave Places mobile service will not be able to function fully.
Podz: if a Creator has created a pod with featured places and entered their address, the Service will use your location to be able to allow you to see your location on a map and provide distance and directions from your location to the featured place/s. If you favorite a place inside Podz, it will pin the places to a map
For the Mobile app and Podz, we use various technologies to determine location, such as location services of the applicable operating system or browser and sensor data from your device that may, for example, provide information on nearby Wi-Fi- access points and cell towers. Your real-time location is not tracked by MFP nor shared with others. We record only the places you have saved in the app. This information identifying your list of places is not shared or sold to third parties.
Cookies
Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer's hard drive through your browser to enable our systems to recognize your browser and tell us how and when pages on our site are visited and by how many people.
For all visitors to our web site, we use cookies to collect anonymous information such as the server your computer is logged on to, your browser type (for example, Edge, Chrome, or Firefox), and your IP address. An IP address is a number that is assigned to your computer automatically and required for using the Internet. We may also derive the general geographic area associated with an IP address.
If you are an anonymous visitor, the information we collect is not capable of personally identifying you.
We sometimes use third party advertisements to support our site. Some of these advertisers may use technology such as cookies and web beacons when they advertise on our site, which will also send these advertisers (such as Google through the Google AdSense program) information including your IP address, your ISP, the browser you used to visit our site, and in some cases, whether you have Flash installed. This is generally used for geotargeting purposes (showing New York real estate ads to someone in New York, for example) or showing certain ads based on specific sites visited (such as showing cooking ads to someone who frequents cooking sites).
You can choose to disable or selectively turn off our cookies or third-party cookies in your browser settings, or by managing preferences in programs security. However, this can affect how you can interact with our site as well as other websites. This could include the inability to login to services or programs, such as logging into forums or accounts.
In the mobile app, we’ll also rely on your consent where we use cookies to:
Identify you across different browser sessions. This means if you log into the mobile app service, we'll remember that you're you and you won't need to enter your login details each time you open the My Fave Places mobile app. You can always log out at the end of a session.
Third-Party Web Site Destinations
This Service includes web links to third party sites affiliate programs where you can make travel bookings, buy discount city attraction passes, tickets and purchase music or books related to the shows and artists we feature online. From sales made through links clicked through our Service, My Fave Places receives a percentage revenue which helps to support our Service. Details on the affiliate programs can be found in their affiliate sections on their web sites. Almost all of those sites use cookies and log files to track your activity, and some may also utilize other strategies to track and monitor your use of their websites. Some of the links to external web sites pass through intermediaries, which also track your click, store a cookie, and transfer your request to another web server. These intermediaries (and their cookies) are later checked if you purchase at the third-party destination web site, and if so, the intermediary store's information about that transaction so that the third parties can account and pay us an advertising fee in exchange for directing customers to their web sites. Some merchants share aggregate purchase information with us; for example, Amazon.com reports the specific items that were purchased by consumers that were referred from this web site; we use this information when updating this web site's content and advertising. However, these third-party merchants do not share any personal identifying information with us.
Information We Share
We do not sell or otherwise disclose personal information about our website visitors, mobile app, or Podz users and Creators, except as described here. We do not sell data to data brokers or advertisers. We may share information provided by our visitors to this site with service providers we have retained to perform services on our behalf. These service providers are restricted from using or disclosing the information except as necessary to perform services on our behalf or to comply with legal requirements. Also, we may disclose information about you (i) if we are required to do so by law or legal process, (ii) to law enforcement authorities or other government officials, or (iii) when we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to prevent physical harm or financial loss or in connection with an investigation of suspected or actual illegal activity.
My Fave Places may share the information we collect:
With other users;
If you share a place with another user inside the app.
At your request:
If you requested a service through a business partnership or promotional offering made by a third party, My Fave Places may share your information with those third parties, through which you create or access your account. This may include, for example, other apps or websites that integrate with our APIs or services, or those with an API or service with which we integrate, or business partners with whom My Fave Places may partner such as payment providers, social media services, and on-demand car/rideshare services.
Podz
Supporters: must provide their payment information to our payment processor when purchasing access to a premium pod or ordering a custom request from a creator. You can see the privacy policy for our payment processor Stripe on the Stripe site. At this time, Podz does not receive your full card number. Our payment processor provides us with a token that represents your account, your card’s expiration date, card type, and the last four digits of your card number. If you are required to provide your name, email address, and shipping to the payment processor, then they also provide us with that information. The information is encrypted.
We collect and process information about the creators you support, what products or services you ordered you receive, and how often you support them. As a supporter, if you select to purchase a product, then you will provide your shipping information, including phone number, so the creator can ship you the product, or provide updates related to the shipment. Podz also receives a copy of this information. Creators are responsible for keeping supporters data safe when they have received contact information for fulfilling product orders.
Service Providers and Business Partners
My Fave Places’ may provide anonymized information to its vendors, consultants, marketing partners, research firms, and other service providers or business partners. This may include, for example:
Cloud storage providers.
Chat functionality
Marketing partners and marketing platform providers.
Data analytics providers.
Research partners, including those performing surveys or research projects in partnership with My Fave Places or on My Fave Place’s behalf.
Vendors that assist My Fave Places to enhance the testing, safety, and security of its apps.
Consultants, lawyers, accountants, and other professional service providers.
Insurance and financing partners.
Restaurant partners.
Vehicle solution vendors or third-party vehicle suppliers.
Security
We and our partners take security seriously and follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or via a mobile device, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Podz
Podz is hosted with service provider Glide Apps who perform services on our behalf. Glide Apps utilize commercially reasonable safeguards to ensure information protection. It should be noted that no security procedure is currently 100% effective. Should any breach of your Personal Information occur, we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible, as required by applicable law.
California Residents: Your California Privacy Rights
My Fave Places does not sell your personal information. We do not disclose your personal information to third parties to directly market their services to you unless you first agree to such disclosure. If you have any questions regarding this policy, you may contact us at the address listed below.
Right to access/know
You may request from us a list of (i) the Personal Information that we have collected about you; and (ii) the categories of third parties to whom we have disclosed your Personal Information.
Right to delete your Personal Information
You may request, at any time, to delete your account and your Personal Information for all Services.
GDPR Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have some rights regarding the processing of your Personal Information, including:
The right to request access to, or copies of, your Personal Information that we process or control, together with information regarding the nature, processing, and disclosure of that Personal Information;
The right to request rectification of any inaccuracies in your Personal Information that we process or control;
The right to request, on legitimate grounds:
Deletion of your Personal Information that we process or control; or
Restriction of processing of your Personal Information that we process or control;
The right to object, on legitimate grounds, to the processing of your Personal Information by us or on our behalf;
The right to have your Personal Information that we process or control transferred to another data controller, to the extent applicable;
Where we process your Personal Information based on your consent, the right to withdraw that consent; and

This does not affect your statutory rights.

Reason for erasure request
Given the sensitive nature of erasing personal data, GDPR Article 17(1) requires certain conditions to be met before a request may be considered. Please supply us with the reason you wish your data to be erased and please attach any justifying documents to this one. Please include in your request one of the following reasons 1-7 for deletion.
You feel your personal data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which we originally collected it.
You no longer consent to our processing of your personal data.
You object to our processing of your personal data as is your right under Article 21 of the GDPR.
You feel your personal data has been unlawfully processed.
You feel we are subject to a legal obligation of the EU or Member State that requires the erasure of your personal data.
You are a child, you represent a child, or you were a child at the time of the data processing and you feel your personal data was used to offer you information society services.

Please note that. In certain circumstances, where erasure would adversely affect the freedom of expression, contradict a legal obligation, act against the public interest in the area of public health, act against the public interest in the area of scientific or historical research, or prohibit the establishment of a legal defense or exercise of other legal claims, we may not be able to erase the information you requested in accordance with article 17(3) of the GDPR. In such cases you will be informed promptly and given full reasons for that decision.
While in most cases we will be happy to erase the personal data you request, we nevertheless reserve the right, in accordance with Article 12(5) of the GDPR, to charge a fee or refuse the request if it is considered to be “manifestly unfounded or excessive.” However we will make every effort to provide you with the erasure of your personal data if suitable.
To maintain our commitment to safeguarding the privacy of your Personal Information, we will only process requests, including but not limited to, data access requests, data deletion requests, data portability requests if we can verify or authenticate your identity. If we are unable to verify or authenticate your identity, we will not be able to fulfill your request. If you are not an end-user of the Apps or are not an end-user of a Partner App, we cannot fulfill your request as there is no way for us, at this time, to accurately verify or authenticate your identity.
If you believe we have obtained your Data from an Enterprise Customer or another third party (e.g. publisher), and wish to exercise a right to access or export or delete that data, please contact the relevant Enterprise Customer or third party to exercise any rights you may have. We do not have control over their policies. However, if notified by an Enterprise Customer or third party to delete your Data, we will honor such requests and promptly delete Data about you that we obtained from such Enterprise Customer or third party.
International Users
My Fave Places is a worldwide service. Our proprietary mobile app and all of our data, including your data, are hosted on servers in the United States. By using our products or services, you authorize us to transfer, process, and store your information outside your home country, in the United States, for the purposes described in this policy. The privacy protections and the rights of authorities to access your personal information in such countries may not be equivalent to those of your home country.
Access to Information
Like all of our members, you (or your authorized agent) can request a copy of your personal information. You can also request that we disclose how we have collected and used your personal information over the past 12 months, including the categories of personal information we collected and our purposes for doing so; the categories of sources for that information; the categories of third parties with whom we shared it for a business purpose and our purposes for doing so. You have the right to up to two (2) access requests each twelve (12) months. Registered clients can modify their personal information and accounts by logging into their accounts in the mobile app and on our home page and modifying their preferences. How do I delete my data?
MFP Mobile App
You can delete individual places you have saved through the app, by swiping on a place and selecting ‘Delete’. Deletion of your account may not be immediate. Residual copies of your personally identifiable information or posts may remain on backup media for a short time thereafter. Additionally, we may store certain data that does not directly identify you, in our internal systems. If you wish to delete your account, My Fave Places can execute that for you in compliance with GDPR and Californian Privacy Rules.
You can request to delete your entire My Fave Places app account by contacting through this Delete My MFP app account form.
If you have questions about accessing, updating, or deleting your Account, please contact us using the Connect form.
Please note, we will not be able to restore your account once it has been deleted. This process will remove all your account details and places saved and is irreversible.
Podz
Whether you are a Supporter or a Creator, contact Podz to delete your entire account. Deletion will delete all your Podz (ones you have created or where you have financially supported other Creators), as they are linked to your account. Deletion is permanent and we will not be able to restore your account, profile, and content once it has been deleted.
If you wish to delete your entire Podz account, please contact us through the Connect form. There may be outstanding Creator or User orders that will will need to confirm are completed before closing and deleting the account in its entirety.
Opting Out of Communications
Our mobile app & Podz account holders may automatically be subscribed to our email newsletter as part of the account setup process. All individuals have the opportunity to choose to opt-out from receiving our newsletter or other non-account related emails, either during the account creation process or through opt-out instructions that are provided in our email communications. Your personal information will not be shared or distributed with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
Opting Out from My Fave Places or Podz Newsletters
You may opt-out of receiving our marketing newsletters by clicking on the opt-out link included in every email newsletter we send, or by contacting us through our use of our Connect form.
My Fave Places will contact mobile app and Podz app users if there are important service updates.
No Liability
You understand that electronic communications may be accessed by unauthorized parties when communicated across the Internet, network communications facilities, or other electronic means. You agree that we are not responsible for any electronic communication and/or any of your data that may be lost, altered, intercepted, or stored without authorization during the transmission of any data whatsoever across networks not owned and/or operated by us. We do not guarantee that your information will not be misused or disclosed to third parties. We will not have any liability to you for any such misuse or disclosure.
Will There Be Changes to This Privacy Policy?
As My Fave Places adds new features and new laws are enacted, we will amend this Privacy Policy accordingly. If we make material changes in the way we use Personal Information, we will notify you by posting an announcement on this website and indicate when it was most recently updated. Users are bound by any changes to the Privacy Policy when they use the Service after such changes have been first posted.
